Learning Commons Facilitator - Temporary - Part-time

Our client is looking for an Accounting Clerk to fill a temporary position within their company. This role will be responsible for assisting the team regarding financial accountability and controls for operating entities across North America. A successful candidate will adhere to all provincial and federal laws, company policy, internal controls, and practices, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism. This role reports directly to the Manager of Financial Reporting.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

• Complete bank reconciliations for Canadian and US companies
• Reconcile credit card accounts for Canadian and US companies
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Data entry relating to fixed asset and capital lease ledgers
• Assist with various month-end duties
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Assist in annual audit processes
• Post daily cash receipts
• Other accounting-related functions as assigned

Your strengths include:

• Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance
• 2+ years of related accounting experience is required
• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles and computerized accounting systems
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Suite
• High attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Strong work ethic with a positive, energetic attitude
