ABOUT THE ROLE : Overview :

The CME has two (2) opportunities for LEAN Trainer-Facilitators in Western Canada: one focused in northern Alberta (AB), and the other in Saskatchewan (SK). One position will be for a Sr. Lean Facilitator and the other for a Lean Facilitator.

The successful candidates will have an intrinsic desire to be positive difference-makers for everyone they lead and partner with.

The LEAN Trainer-Facilitator is a key individual contributor to the success of the CME member companies they work with. High performance in this role will strengthen and improve the operational effectiveness of these companies, making them more efficient, productive, and financially stronger.

What You Will Do :

Provide training and support to CME members in northern Alberta or Saskatchewan, facilitate a LEAN Consortium, and industry peer councils. Focus on training delivery and developing processes to support both in-person and online delivery. Engage in business development of CME LEAN Training through interaction with member and non-member manufacturers.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities :

Training & Facilitation :

  • Own, prepare, and deliver LEAN 101.
  • Own, prepare, and deliver the LEAN Level 1 (Yellowbelt Program).
  • Own, prepare, and deliver the LEAN Level 2 (Greenbelt Program).
  • Facilitate the delivery of a LEAN consortium.
  • Customize training to meet individual manufacturers’ needs upon request.
  • Support LEAN program development for members.
  • Coordinate with CME Facilitators and partners to ensure consistency in methods and messaging.

Other :

  • Support the LEAN Champion in promoting LEAN among Canadian manufacturers.
  • Inform prospective CME members about programs and services.
  • Promote CME events and programs.
  • Attend and support CME events as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support business development by raising awareness and filling CME Training Programs and Workshops.
  • Share success stories.

What You Will Bring To the Role :

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and technical expertise.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build stakeholder relationships.
  • LEAN Black Belt certification preferred.
  • Adult Instructor / Education certification an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience, with 1-3 years LEAN implementation for Facilitator; 5+ years manufacturing and 3-7 years leading operations for Sr. Facilitator.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Commitment to CME’s standards of continuous improvement, ethics, and integrity.
  • Valid Driver’s License and passport, with no travel restrictions.
