Job summary

Sandvik Mining is seeking a Drafting Technician in Sturgeon Falls, ON, to create precise 2D and 3D drawings and manage documentation across the product lifecycle. You will collaborate with engineers, production, and quality teams to ensure manufacturability and adherence to standards.

You will apply Lean tools (5S, kaizen, value stream mapping) to streamline drafting processes, support root-cause analyses, and drive continuous improvement in design documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in drafting, CAD technology or related field.
• Formal training in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
• Proficiency in CAD tools and GD&T knowledge is expected.
• Lean tools experience and continuous improvement mindset preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings and schematics using CAD software.
• Update and maintain engineering drawings throughout product lifecycle.
• Interpret sketches and design intent to create manufacturable drawings.
• Apply Lean methodologies to improve drafting workflows and reduce waste.
