Job description

About Us

LINK 427 General Partnership is a joint venture responsible for designing, building, financing and operating/maintaining the 427 Expansion project.

This full-time permanent position involves summer and winter patrolling duties, Emergency Response & performing routine maintenance operations in accordance with the LINK 427 Project Agreement and Ministry of Transportation requirements.

As a Lead hand, You Will:
  1. Promote, lead, and execute a Safety-First culture for all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants.
  2. Respond to emergency situations such as spills, accidents, incidents, inclement weather or implementations of the emergency plan.
  3. Perform maintenance inspections for various highway assets and enter data to Asset Management Software(s).
  4. Maintain and review documentation - Hours of service, Fuel records, Incident reports, Time sheets, Diaries, Logs etc.
  5. Respond to calls dispatched from MTO with a sense of urgency, complete incident investigation along with patrol staff.
  6. Provide traffic control at the accident scene, including set up and take down of OTM book 7 traffic closures.
  7. Operate various types of maintenance equipment including tractors, loaders, backhoes etc.
  8. Lead crews to make repairs to the highway (including but not limited to pothole repairs, installing signs, grass cutting, guide rail repairs etc.).
What You'll Bring?
  1. DZ License, required.
  2. Highway maintenance, winter patrol and emergency response experience with knowledge of OTM Book 7 are strong assets.
  3. Contract compliance knowledge and report writing skills.
  4. Knowledge of typical fleet maintenance requirements and organizational skills to coordinate preventative maintenance and repair schedules.
  5. Must have efficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PPT, etc.
  6. Excellent team player, proven ability to work productively in a highly functional team.
  7. Flexibility and organizational skills to multi-task and manage time in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
  8. Willingness to work assigned day, night and weekend shifts with rotating on-call requirements in extreme weather conditions.
  9. Ability to perform manual labour and lift between 50 – 70 pounds.
