Job description

SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Leader, Total Rewards plays a role in shaping and executing strategies to attract, engage, and retain talent through competitive and sustainable compensation and benefits programs. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing total rewards initiatives aligned with business goals and employee equity. The role also requires analytical oversight of compensation data, compliance, and system administration to ensure effective HR practices.

Position Details
  • Non-union. This position is permanent full time.

Key Accountabilities
  • Ensure the Total Reward Strategy goals are achieved by embedding specific programs and projects to attract, engage and retain talent that aligns with the business strategy and delivers consistent employee experience.

  • Design and oversee the development of Total Rewards programs, policies, and practices to ensure they remain competitive, sustainable, and scalable to positively impact the long and short-term performance of SaskEnergy.

  • Lead and administer the job evaluation process in accordance with plan requirements, union agreements and legislative/regulatory requirements.

  • Compile and report on the Corporation’s salary and benefit data for the Shareholder, Board of Directors and Executive.

  • Analyze external and internal compensation trends, evaluate costs, recommend plan design changes, and ensure compliance with adopted frameworks and external regulations.

  • Provide expertise and support for job description development and maintenance in collaboration with business leaders and Labour Relations.

  • Coordinate and lead the implementation of compensation changes and system improvements in the Human Resources Information System; ensure system entries are accurate and timely.

  • Plan and implement the company’s compensation initiatives, including annual incentive programs and Executive compensation.

  • Research, analyze, and provide recommendations for Human Resources policies.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Degree in Business Administration or Commerce.

  • Five (5) years of relevant and progressive experience as a Human Resources professional with a focus on Total Rewards.

  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or equivalent is an asset.

  • Working experience and knowledge of Workday HRIS (Workday) and associated business processes is an asset.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookup, complex formulas).

  • Effective organizational skills, including time management and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.

  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the compensation cycle, including salary administration, surveys, market analysis, as well as employee benefits.

  • Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.

A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.

Additional Information
  • Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.

  • A Class 5 Driver’s License is required.
