This position involves participating in a detailed study to assess wastefulness and recycling efforts of residents. For 20 years, our company has solved challenging waste management problems with creative approaches to waste reduction and recycling. We care deeply about making a positive environmental impact. We are seeking a new Lead Waste Auditor to make an impact, drive results, and join our ambitious team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire waste auditing project for The Regional Municipality of York.
• Lead and manage a team of field technicians.
• Liaise with on-site staff at The Regional Municipality of York.
• Participate in site work when needed.
• Supervise data entry into detailed spreadsheets.
• Prepare reports based on audit findings.

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Lead Auditor for at least five municipal waste audits (minimum 3 acceptable).
• Experience in team supervision and leadership.
• Ability to liaise effectively with on-site staff.
• Experience conducting audits for commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors is an asset.
• Proficiency with MS Office programs including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Own transportation and a valid G driver’s license.
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in an environmental discipline is an asset.

Additional Requirements:

• Intend to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
• Under 30 years old.
• Canadian citizen, landed immigrant, or refugee.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Graduated from a post-secondary institution.
• Able to start full-time within 2 months.
• Unemployed or underemployed.
• Not previously participated in a federal youth employment or education program.
• Not currently employed by the host organization.
