Position Title: Lead Technology Manager, IT Enterprise Architecture
Reports To: Head of Technology - Enterprise Platforms and Architecture
Department: IT
Term: Permanent Full-Time
Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.
The Opportunity: Equitable is growing! We are looking for a Lead Technology Manager, IT Enterprise Architecture to join our IT Team! The Technology Manager role will manage and direct a cross-functional team that identifies, recommends, develops, implements, and supports IT solutions to support and enable strategic and tactical business goals and objectives. The role will manage and steward a set of technology assets within a technology platform, in collaboration with business and IT roles on solution design and development of systems, and applications that may depend on or are used by other platforms. The role will create and drive technical strategy and roadmaps for a set of technology assets within a technology platform. What you will be doing:
- Own Platform assets:
- Sets technical vision and roadmap for assigned assets within a platform to support and enhance business outcomes
- Own the technical roadmap and deliver milestones for assigned assets by working closely with business, development, operations teams and Technical Platform Owner.
- Monitor, steward and advance the technical health and performance of assigned assets
- Works with architects to develops the technology capability roadmap of assigned assets
- Manage the lifecycle of vendor platforms and overall vendor relationships
- Lead Solution Development or Service practices\processes:
- Enable and guide team to deliver high quality solutions and/or services in a sustainable and optimized manner
- Identify, document, continuously improve, and implement end-to-end software/service development, quality, delivery, and support processes
- Accountable to ensure technical standards, guidelines, and principles are upheld by team
- Own the technology KPIs and prioritization of assigned assets
- Team Talent Management:
- Sets direction and vision for the team.
- People management, including hiring, coaching, recognizing, mentoring and performance managing team members.
- Hold team members accountable for deliverables and high-quality work.
- Coordinate team member activities
- Monitor team productivity, quality, and morale.
- Spearheads and guides team through process implementation/changes.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years hands of relevant business technology experience, specifically in the Investments space. Preference will be given to individuals who have worked with trading or benchmarking tools and Investments vendors such as StateStreet.
- 5+ year of hands on experience supporting an enterprise platform and contributing to KPI monitoring and maintaining the health of technology.
- 2+ years in a team leadership/management role;
- Strong understanding of the different types of investments.
- Post-secondary degree or combination of equivalent education/experience in the following or related discipline: computer science, computer systems engineering, software engineering
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Certification in Enterprise Architecture frameworks, such as Zachman or TOGAF
- Enterprise Architecture platforms such as Abacus, LeanIX, Sparx, Ardoq
- Visualization software such as MS Visio, PowerPoint, MIRO
- Experience in solution design within multiple technology layers, from infrastructure, middle wear, digital front end, integrations, cloud, security
- Experience in IT system management, service level agreements, vendor assessments, setting key performance outcomes, platform service options (SaaS, PaaS).
- Ability to analyze business problems and align to technical requirement
