Qualifications

Title: Lead Technician

Reports to: Installation Supervisor or Director Retail Operations

Job Purpose: Lead a team to install, repair and service Napoleon products at residential or commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Install, repair and service manufactured products using hand and power tools
  • Read and interpret blueprint, drawings, layouts, and other specifications
  • Measure and lay out reference points for installation
  • Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
  • Startup system, test for leaks using industry testing devices
  • Repair and replace parts and components for fireplace, air conditioner, ventilation or heat pump systems
  • Responsible for all Company property including but not limited to; truck (including maintenance and appearance), product/units and inventory. Complete daily walk arounds.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory on truck
  • Guidance and mentorship of technician / installers. Instruct, support and motivate the team members under his/her direction in an effective and professional manner. Provide necessary training tools and feedback.
  • Organization of work on-site
  • Provide best customer service representing Napoleon

Education and Experience:

  • Must have High School Diploma, or GED
  • 3 - 5 years' experience in HVAC installer or service role
  • 2 years' experience in lead position considered an asset
  • Valid G2 gas certification and ODP (Ozone Depletion Prevention) required
  • Valid Refrigeration 313D certification is considered an asset
  • WETT training/certificate is considered an asset
  • Proof of Fall Arrest Training or Working at Heights certification is required
  • Sheet Metal experience is considered an asset
  • Valid G class drivers license, with clean abstract
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, facilitate and problem solve all in a team environment
  • Strong working knowledge and compliance with employment legislation including ESA, OHSA, Human Rights
