Services within Mastercard are responsible for acquiring, engaging, and retaining customers by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and improving the digital payments experience. We provide value-added services and leverage expertise, data-driven insights, and execution.


The Technical Program Management team is looking for a Lead, Technical Program Manager to drive our customer experience strategy forward by consistently innovating and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with the customer experience journey, global technology engineering teams, is highly motivated, intellectually curious, analytical, and possesses an entrepreneurial mindset.


Role

  1. Plan, execute, and deliver projects from inception to completion related to a known technology, product, or program. Describe and maintain the integrated plan that accounts for internal/external dependencies, differing delivery approaches, numerous constraints, and contingency for unplanned delays.
  2. Secure resources, scope efforts, outline priorities, and establish delivery milestones.
  3. Proactively manage the end-to-end delivery of engineering work through the organization and all dependent organizations, reporting progress, ensuring dependencies are covered, overseeing gaps between teams, processes, and systems, and removing all blocking issues leading to successful delivery. Accelerate progress by driving crisp, timely decisions.
  4. Serve as the first point of contact for projects. Communicate confidently with senior leaders. Be the source of truth for status. Transform raw thoughts into clear and concise communications. Provide the right information and data about project status to the right audience at the right time. Run effective meetings.
  5. Have experience in and understand industry technologies. Understand your program, product, or technology domain sufficiently to be effective with teams. Represent team services to stakeholders and other teams effectively. May need to bring developers or SMEs to meetings to discuss details.
  6. Define program strategy. Deliver independently but seek guidance from peers or managers when needed.
  7. Nurture good working relationships with engineers, managers, and peers.
  8. Optimize previously defined approaches for a team or limited area. Demonstrate improvements using data. Use department mechanisms (retrospectives, staff meetings, status meetings) to describe and drive continuous improvements.

  • Communicate clearly and concisely in verbal and written form.
  • Improve team processes to accelerate delivery, drive innovation, lower costs, and enhance quality.
  • Be proficient with Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • Have some exposure or understanding of API development and microservices architecture.
  • Be skilled at explaining technical problems succinctly and clearly.
  • Be a confident, precise writer and speaker, capable of effectively communicating your vision and roadmap to diverse stakeholders.
  • Always seek potential solutions to solve problems.
