Lead Technical Engineer for an Event Ticketing Software Company

The Ticketing Co. is a company that provides a feature-rich ticketing platform designed to cater to the needs of event organizers. Founded by professionals with experience in event production and nightlife industries, the company focuses on staying ahead of industry trends and incorporating user feedback into its agile development process. Their goal is to offer a customer-driven and competitive ticketing solution in the dynamic ticketing software market.

We are looking to hire a motivated Lead Technical Engineer who will be the architect of our digital backbone, designing and maintaining resilient systems that power our innovative solutions. This role is a remote full-time position (35 hours per week).

Requirements:

• Must be based in Quebec
• Excellent English & French written and verbal communication skills
• 5-10 years of experience in designing and implementing complex, scalable infrastructure solutions, including cloud environments
• 5+ years in web development in NodeJS, React, and TypeScript
• Strong focus on code quality, maintainability, scalability, and readability
• Expertise in server infrastructure, ideally with experience in Google Cloud Platform; experience with AWS is also acceptable
• Deep understanding of security best practices and implementation
• Fluent and expert in optimizing PostgreSQL
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC); experience with Pulumi is preferred
• Bonus Skills: React Native is a plus

Your Responsibilities:

• Oversee the entire web app and system infrastructure, including database management
• Ensure optimization, performance, and data integrity across all systems
• Maintain and monitor the website's uptime, ensuring smooth and continuous operation
• Take full accountability for all aspects of the infrastructure, including servers, networking, and security
• Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect data and systems
• Continuously improve application and infrastructure reliability and efficiency through proactive monitoring and maintenance
