Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to steer high voltage substation projects from conception through construction and commissioning. Hybrid work options allow Calgary or Vancouver postings, with site liaison and travel to project sites as needed.

The role emphasizes cross-disciplinary coordination, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. A P.Eng. and NA utility experience are preferred, with a strong track record in fast-paced environments.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong coordination across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and designers.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering coordination on 12 kV to 500 kV transmission and substation projects from concept to construction.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, structural, telecom and protection & control teams to ensure deliverables meet schedules.
• Support project managers and discipline leaders; prepare construction specifications and scopes.
