Job summary

Fluor Constructors Canada Limited, a leader in engineering and construction, seeks a Lead Structural Engineer to join our Vancouver team and deliver complex design solutions.

You will develop estimates and schedules, review specifications, mentor staff, and apply advanced analysis tools on heavy industrial and mining projects. This role requires a four-year degree and 10+ years of experience, with NBCC/BCBC and other codes knowledge; competitive salary is provided.

Qualifications

• Accredited four-year degree in engineering and 10 years of heavy industrial/mining structural design experience.
• Strong working knowledge of NBCC/BCBC, IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, CSA A23.3, CSA S16.
• Experience in dynamic analysis and design of structures supporting rotating equipment.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA-3D, SAP2000, Dyna5).
• Excellent communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts.
• Establish, track, and monitor material quantities; provide analysis and forecasts.
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
• Participate in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
• Perform calculations; specify equipment; solve complex engineering problems.
• Mentor staff; develop training materials; conduct seminars; provide performance input.
