Job description

Overview

Under the guidance of the Therapy Supervisor, this role leads Speech Language Pathologist Assistants (SLPAs), Clinical Fellow Speech Language Pathologists (CF-SLPs), and Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) at the clinic.

Responsibilities include case consultations, reviewing reports, conducting weekly staff meetings, and contributing to the annual job performance evaluations for SLPAs and CF-SLPs.

The individual also assists the Therapy Supervisor with program evaluation and development, supervises Clinical Fellows/Assistants, and acts as the primary contact for Interns in the office and/or region. The role involves implementing discipline-specific treatments for children with autism and other special needs, including evaluations, planning, documentation, and professional communication.

Salary

$110,000 - $120,000 annually

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  1. Maintain 50% productivity goal weekly/monthly by completing scheduled therapy sessions and providing make-up sessions as available. Adjust productivity based on supervision load.
  2. Conduct and interpret speech and language screenings/evaluations; develop and follow treatment plans; provide direct patient treatment.
  3. Complete reevaluations, progress reports, discharge summaries, daily intervention reports, and calendar updates, meeting deadlines.
  4. Set goals and modify plans collaboratively with clients and families/caregivers.
  5. Collaborate with other service providers as needed.
  6. Provide clinical supervision of SLPs, SLPAs, and CFYs, ensuring adherence to ASHA and CA licensing standards.
  7. Review documentation and assessments periodically to maintain clinical standards.
  8. Conduct clinical orientation for new staff.
  9. Assign support supervision for CFs and SLPA’s when needed.
  10. Promote best practices and ensure high-quality therapy services.
  11. Perform clinical portion of annual staff performance appraisals and assist in performance improvement plans.
  12. Assist in program evaluation, budgeting, supplies, meetings, authorizations, hiring, and clinical education planning.
  13. Stay current with research and trends in autism treatment, and provide staff updates and in-services.
  14. Ensure SLPA licensure and certification are maintained.
  15. Evaluate and maintain relevant equipment, including AAC devices.
  16. Serve as the point person for SLP student interns and collaborate on program development and innovation.
  17. Coordinate with billing and student affairs regarding session notes and reports.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.
    Qualifications

    Education: Master’s degree in speech-language pathology from an ASHA Accredited program.

    Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ licensed experience with supervisory experience of at least one SLPA or SLP/A student, or 3 years’ experience with supervisory experience of an SLPA for at least one year and/or 3 SLP/A students. At least 3-5 years’ experience working with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Knowledge of evidence-based practices for autism, speech therapy, early intervention, and rehabilitation. Proficiency with MS Office and EMR systems.
