Job Summary

Job Description

RBC Human Resource and Compensation Technology is undertaking multiple initiatives to realize HR business strategy and improve the employee experience. The HR projects involve modernization of the platform with AI/ML, GenAI, and Cloud technologies; mergers and acquisitions; systems enhancements; integrations with SaaS applications; and Requests for Proposals (RFP). This role includes leading the design of end-to-end solution architectures and developing comprehensive roadmaps aligned with various strategic pillars.

• Lead the end-to-end solution architecture for various IT projects, ensuring alignment with business requirements, RBC strategy, architecture principles, and technology standards.
• Engage with other architecture and technical teams to certify the architecture.
• Identify, create, and present architecture decisions in a timely manner.
• Develop and present architecture blueprints at the Architecture Review Board (ARB).
• Maintain the HR architecture portfolio.
• Identify issues, conflicts, and risks; analyze, mitigate, and escalate where appropriate.

Must have

• Total IT experience of at least 10 years, including 5 years in application or solution architecture on large projects with multiple integration points.
• Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or a similar field.
• Above-average communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Experience with Cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience applying AI/ML concepts and techniques.
• Proven leadership skills, with a drive to influence and solve complex problems.
• Ability to work independently and ask the right questions.
• Good understanding of software and data design patterns.
• Experience with Java, Python, or other modern programming languages.
• Experience preparing and leading Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
• Confidence in presenting to executives and senior leaders.

Nice-to-have

• TOGAF certification.
• Cloud certification.
• SAP/Workday knowledge.
• Knowledge of modern Cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks).
• Experience in the financial services industry.
