Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada is seeking a Software Test Engineer to support verification planning, software development planning, and reviews of software and interface requirements. You will analyze requirements and develop test plans, cases, and scripts for manual and automated testing of CSCIs across project plans and standards.

You will also document defects, drive retests, and contribute to regression testing and test coverage.

Qualifications

University degree in engineering, computer science or related mechatronics field.
Minimum 3 years of relevant software testing experience.
Experience developing and executing software test plans, tests cases and test scripts.
Ability to develop and update automated test frameworks/interfaces/scripts and document user instructions.
Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Strong technical and analytical ability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills with agility to set priorities and multi-task.
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to obtain and hold a valid Secret level security clearance.
Willingness to travel 10% Canada and 10% US/international, and to obtain/passport requirements.

Responsibilities

Support project verification planning and software development planning.
Support reviews of software requirements and interface requirements specifications.
Analyze software requirements and develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test scripts for manual and automated testing of CSCIs in accordance with project plans, process standards, and approved scope of work.
Support peer reviews of software test work products and resolution of issues.
Ensure directional traceability of software tests to software requirements and manage test coverage.
Execute manual and automated tests to verify compliance with software requirements.
Document and communicate test defects; retest resolutions and close issues with software teams.
Support regression test plan development and regression testing to ensure new code baselines do not affect existing functionality.
Manage configuration of software test work products (baselines, change control).
Support Software Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings to review and authorize software scope and test work product updates.
Participate in software work product/capability development planning and execution (agile), including estimating and statusing work packages.
Support CSCI integration and test environment planning (SIL, HIL architecture, test equipment/automation, system build, etc.).
Manage and report quality metrics related to test plan traceability, test coverage, defects, and TPMs.
Support software working group meetings and presentation content.
Develop test reports and present to internal/external customers.
Create and deliver contractual reports (CDRL, DID).
