Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to join the Land and Joint division. You will develop security strategies, design secure systems, and implement solutions grounded in strong security principles.

You will perform hands-on security assessments and validate resilience against real-world threats while mentoring junior team members in a dynamic defence environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent, with at least 1+ years of related cybersecurity experience.
• Experience supporting secure system engineering, ideally in military environments.
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs and frameworks.
• Experience conducting technical security testing, including system, network, or application assessments.
• Experience supporting vulnerability management workflows, including CVE/CWE tracking and remediation.
• Experience with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred.
• Effective communicator, strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and ability to motivate others through collaborative leadership; and
• Excellent time management skills, whether working as a self-motivated individual or part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support stakeholder engagement by identifying regulatory requirements and securing SA&A concurrence.
• Evaluate and define system security architectures and cybersecurity controls.
• Conduct threat modeling and vulnerability assessments to improve defenses.
• Assess security of OS and containerized environments for real-world exploitability.
• Ensure cybersecurity frameworks align with military and industry standards.
• Perform threat risk analyses, impact assessments, and vulnerability testing with evidence-based testing.
• Develop, write, and execute Security Test Procedures demonstrating System Security Requirements.
• Assist audits by creating reproducible security artifacts and SA&A documentation.
• Mentor less senior team members.
