Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC in Vancouver seeks a Software Development Manager with an owner mindset to lead a team delivering features to customers globally. You will drive the AWS AppSync roadmap, collaborate with product managers and principal engineers, and help grow leaders within the organization.

You will hire, coach, and manage engineers, ensuring high-quality designs and rapid delivery at scale, while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence and customer impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of engineering experience.
• 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services would be advantageous.
• Experience partnering with product/program management teams.

Responsibilities

• Hire and develop a strong and highly effective team.
• Manage day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Create roadmaps, project plans, and commitments and deliver against them.
• Work with engineers to architect and develop the best technical design.
• Engage with customers and partners.
• Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance.
