Job summary

RBC Global Functions Technology (GFT) is seeking a Lead Software Developer to own data pipelines and analytics infrastructure. You will design and orchestrate robust ETL workflows in Apache Airflow, manage PostgreSQL data stores, and run production Python jobs on Linux while building FastAPI services to expose data/ML capabilities.

Qualifications

• Senior Software Engineer with proven experience in large software projects.
• Extensive software development, scripting and project management experience.
• Experience using system monitoring tools (New Relic) and automated testing frameworks.
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g. Python).
• In-depth knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude and ability to work independently.
• BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree.

Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

Lead Software Developer is responsible for developing software application with large-scale data processing and analysis going on in the background and a microservices architecture. You will work with all stakeholders to design best in class technology solutions. As a Lead Software Developer, you will be a part of the EDA team, developing applications for large-scale data processing and analysis performing data modeling and building the data infrastructure that powers effective decision-making. You will be working in a cross functional team that supports various businesses, and you will have an opportunity to work with different kinds of datasets and work on software applications. You will collaborate with other developers and business partners to deliver medium – high complexity initiatives aligned with EDA and GFT strategic objectives.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
• Extensive experience in software development, scripting and project management
• Experience using system monitoring tools (e.g. New Relic) and automated testing frameworks
• Knowledge of selected programming languages (e.g. Python)
• In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
• Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
• Ability to work independently
• BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree

Nice to Have

• Experience with Machine learning Algorithms.
