Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in CS or related field with 7+ years enterprise software development experience.
  • 7+ years using Microsoft Development Environment and tools.
  • Expert in C#, WPF, Angular and modern .NET.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and client/server architecture.
  • Design and develop Capture components for capture, processing, and recognition of business documents.
  • Own end-to-end technical design, development, validation and test automation, deployment, and production support.
  • Provide technical guidance for major software initiatives, including standardization and modernization.
  • Provide technical team leadership, risk assessment, and status reporting.
  • Respond to bug reports and client escalations, ensuring timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with QA to review test plans and cases.

The Capture Group of OpenText Enterprise Content Management platforms division is focusing on the development and maintenance of the Capture product line. The Capture technology transforms electronic and paper documents into application-ready information, providing a flexible, end-to-end capture solution that includes document capture, document classification, data extraction, information validation, and delivery to the backend system.

Your Impact

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Developer who shares our passion for developing and maintaining the Enterprise Capture product line. OpenText's Capture solutions are deployed both on premise and in the cloud. OpenText Capture technology transforms digital and paper business documents into application-ready information providing a flexible, end-to-end capture solution that includes document capture, classification, data extraction, information validation, and delivery to line of business or backend systems.

What The Role Offers

As a Lead Software Developer, you will:

  • Create and maintain technical documentation, client/server architecture
  • Design and develop of Capture components related to capture, processing, and recognition of business documents
  • Own and lead end-to-end technical design, development, validation and test automation, deployment, and support in production.
  • Provide technical guidance for major software initiatives, including technology standardization and modernization.
  • Provide technical team leadership: distribute tasks, track progress, technical risk assessment, problem solving, early risk notification, report progress and status to manager.
  • Perform all assigned jobs with minimal assistance from the supervisor
  • Respond promptly and professionally to bug reports and client escalations
  • Work closely with Quality Development to review test plans and test cases
What You Need To Succeed
  • MS or PhD in CS or a related technical field and 7+ years of enterprise software development experience
  • 7+ years of software development experience using Microsoft Development Environment and tools
Required
  • Expert in Client-side development (C#, WPF, and Angular)
  • Expert-level C# development experience with modern .NET (.NET 8/9/10+)
  • Visual Studio Code with the C# dev kit or any other Linux based IDE. GNU Compiler family or alternatives
  • Experience with Windows architecture, Windows services, Web API as well as Unix Platforms
  • Experience with Dockers and related containerization technology, Kubernetes or related orchestration software, Helm
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience building microservices and distributed systems
  • Strong expertise about data structures, operating systems, distributed systems, multithreading programming, performance optimization
  • Expert knowledge of design patterns and object oriented principles and how and when to apply them
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL optimization, and ORM technologies such as Entity Framework Core
  • Strong skills in debugging, triaging and resolving technical issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Desired
  • Experience with messaging and queueing technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar platforms
  • Experience with Gitlab or other CI Server

Compensation

At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range

$118,000.00 - $168,000.00; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
