What Is The Opportunity
The Lead Support SRE will be responsible for supporting, developing, and implementing Site Reliability Engineering solutions for all applications within City National Bank (CNB), an RBC company. This team will collaborate with various business and technology partners to succeed. The individual should have advanced knowledge and experience in application development, support, or technology operations, and be capable of taking on a production support role within the SRE team across Consumer Banking, Commercial Banking, and/or Wealth Management.

What Will You Do?
- Perform application production support, including off-hours support.
- Spearhead the development of SRE solutions such as monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection, self-healing, and reliability testing.
- Manage the production environment by monitoring system health and availability.
- Build software and systems for platform infrastructure and applications.
- Enhance reliability, quality, and speed of software delivery.
- Lead incident and problem management efforts for applications.
- Maintain system currency, including patching and certificate renewal, with a focus on automation.
- Ensure application availability and uptime according to SLAs.
- Ensure system and application compliance, including segregation of duties.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection, and self-healing solutions.
- Support automation adoption within the team.
- Apply design-thinking and agile principles in collaboration with team leads.
- Stay updated on technological advancements through continuous learning.
What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must-have
- At least 4+ years in application support, software development (with knowledge of C/C++, Java, Golang, Python, .NET), and operations (SRE, DevOps, Cloud, Data).
- Advanced knowledge of industry best practices, especially in financial institutions, with a focus on SRE.
- Experience with diverse environments (Linux, Windows, databases, cloud, distributed systems, mainframe, APIs).
- Ability to automate routine tasks to improve efficiency.
- Hands-on experience with SRE tools (e.g., Ansible, Dynatrace, Moogsoft, PagerDuty, ServiceNow, Elastic, Logstash, Kibana, Blue Prism, Catch Point, Grafana).
- Effective negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent, direct communication skills.
- Experience in consumer banking.
Nice-to-have
- Experience as an SRE in the Financial Trading Industry.
