Overview

Lead Service Technician - Southampton (Service-Based). We are partnering with the world’s largest survival technology provider to recruit a Lead Service Technician for their Southampton operations. This is a hands-on role that combines technical service delivery with leadership responsibilities. You will work on life-saving marine equipment and help lead a small, skilled team, playing a key role in safety, quality, and operational excellence. This position is suitable for an experienced technician ready to step into a leadership role or an established team leader seeking a new challenge in a globally respected company.

Responsibilities
  • Service, inspect, test, and repack life-saving marine equipment (e.g., liferafts, first aid kits).
  • Carry out repairs, maintenance, and equipment installations per safety protocols.
  • Complete reports on tests/inspections and manage stock via stores requisition.
  • Diagnose faults, perform emergency and preventive maintenance.
  • Support new/complex equipment testing within scope of expertise.
  • Lead daily task allocation and assist with site opening/closing procedures.
  • Coach and mentor technicians; support training and assessments.
  • Collaborate on monthly schedules and resource planning.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in servicing technical or marine safety equipment (liferafts ideal).
  • Leadership or team lead experience in a hands-on service/technical environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong communication skills.
  • Valid driving licence and flexibility for occasional travel.
  • Willing to obtain rope access certification if not already held.
  • Motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
