Job summary

CIMA+’s Municipal & Transportation Design team has built a reputation for excellence in transportation and infrastructure. The Senior Engineer - Roadway Design will lead roadway components on major projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex designs for provincial and municipal clients.

You will mentor junior engineers, ensure quality controls across Civil 3D and related tools, and stay current with evolving standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or immediately eligible.
• Strong knowledge of highway engineering standards and guidelines.
• Minimum 10 years of roadway/highway design experience.
• Proven experience working with MTO and municipal clients.
• Extensive knowledge of Civil 3D, MicroStation, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.

Responsibilities

• Lead roadway design components for major transportation projects from concept to completion.
• Act as a transportation engineer on MTO and municipal projects in both preliminary and detailed design.
• Prepare and review technical reports, contract documents, design drawings, quantities, and cost estimates.
• Perform quality control reviews on plans, profiles, and design models in Civil 3D, InRoads, and/or OpenRoads Designer.
• Conduct initial site inspections and support constructability reviews.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technologists.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, agencies, and internal project teams.
• Stay current with evolving CAD and roadway design tools and standards.
