Lead Senior Product Designer - Diner Engagement
Hybrid - Toronto
This will be a remote role to start, with plans to transition to hybrid in-office 2x/week located in downtown Toronto.
Overview
As a Senior Product Designer on the Diner Engagement team, you will help diners discover, choose, reserve, and engage with the best restaurants for their preferences. You will identify new strategic UX opportunities in Diner-facing products and stay close to emerging trends in discovery, selection, reservation, and the hospitality experience. You will work with a global team to define strategy and drive the future of OpenTable’s diner experience, balancing the needs of diners, restaurants, and the business.
Responsibilities
- Help diners discover, choose, reserve, and engage with the best restaurants for their preferences.
- Identify new strategic UX opportunities in Diner-facing products.
- Stay close to emerging trends in diner habits around discovery, selection, reservation and overall hospitality experience.
- Collaborate with product managers, product & brand designers, engineers and data scientists to define strategy and drive the diner experience.
- Build impactful user experiences that delight customers and drive business impact; evolve and develop new experiences while balancing user and business needs.
- Collaborate with other designers across the full range of design work from research to high-fidelity designs.
- Influence product discovery and development across the design process, iterating to improve quality and impact.
- Put people at the center of design, focusing on product strategy, user experience, and team growth.
- Proactively learn and apply emerging AI tools in design and product development with demonstrable portfolio examples.
- Think systemically and design for scale across web and mobile platforms.
- Demonstrate experience designing for global products in a large-scale, product-led environment, across iOS, Android, and responsive web.
- Mentor designers and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team.
- Communicate effectively and tell compelling product stories.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in product design
- Excel at translating complex workflows into elegant, accessible user experiences
- Comfortable navigating all stages of the design process, from user research to prototyping to polished visual design, collaborating with product managers and engineers
- Value introspection to continually improve oneself, the team, and products
- Willingness to learn from senior team members and stay curious about design trends and methodologies
- Creative problem-solver who can lead projects or product areas while incorporating feedback
- Strong collaboration across partner teams and a track record of being a reliable teammate
- Active contributor in group discussions and design sessions
- Extensive toolset with judgment on when to use what to move work forward
- Portfolio demonstrating problem-solving, visual design, and interaction design across web and mobile
- Experience with global products in a large-scale, product-led environment across iOS, Android, and web
- Experience mentoring designers
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills

Salary: The Toronto-based role offers CAD 125,000–145,000. This role may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity grant.
