Our engineers lead complex transportation projects with a holistic approach that minimizes environmental impact, promotes sustainability, and supports resilient communities.

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead / Senior Engineer specializing in Collision Reconstruction. In this role, you will investigate and analyze vehicle collisions, apply engineering principles, and leverage scientific literature to deliver evidence-based conclusions. The role can be based at any of our major offices across Canada.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct detailed investigations of vehicle collisions, assessing severity, impact dynamics, vehicle speeds, driver behavior, and other key factors.
  • Analyze physical evidence such as vehicle damage, skid marks, road conditions, and environmental factors using advanced forensic engineering techniques.
  • Apply engineering principles (physics, vehicle dynamics, biomechanics) to assess collision mechanisms and establish reliable conclusions about causes and circumstances.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports for clients, legal teams, insurers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings, court hearings, and depositions as needed.
  • Support business development by expanding collision reconstruction services within CIMA+'s transportation group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license issued by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or another provincial body.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in collision reconstruction or forensic engineering.
  • Strong background in analyzing complex vehicular collisions and understanding human factors.
  • Expertise in collision reconstruction software (PC-Crash, HVE, or similar).
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Certified Forensic Video Analyst (CFVA) through the Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association is an asset.
