Our team is mobilizing its design and construction crews, with major works to commence in 2023. The South Civil contract is anticipated to be completed in 2030.
The project will strengthen Ontario’s economy by supporting an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.
What is the project?
- A six-kilometre tunnel and associated tunnelling works from Exhibition to Don Yard portal (west of the Don River)
- Stations :
One above-ground station to be integrated with the existing GO Transit Exhibition Station
- Two underground stations to be integrated with the existing TTC Osgoode and Queen subway stations
- Four new underground stations (King / Bathurst, Queen / Spadina, Moss Park, Corktown)

Job Description
The Requirement and Configuration Engineer will be responsible for the requirement and configuration process throughout the project lifecycle (Identification, Verification, Validation) related to OTG scope according to the Mx requirements and standards.
This role involves updating requirements and configuration documents and reports as needed, liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring integrated implementation of requirement and configuration management processes.
Principal Accountability & Responsibility :
- Review and create requirement specifications or user stories and identify improvement potential
- Validate specifications and address errors in requirement management tools such as DOORS
- Implement Requirement Management tools for the project
- Ensure project-specific enhancements utilize existing functionality or align with current system design
- Work with customers to understand their needs and ensure high-quality product development
- Develop and approve Requirement Management Plans and Procedures
- Assist teams with requirement-related comments on design packages
- Report on requirement management progress
- Interface with the Project’s Document Control/Management System
- Maintain requirement baselines
- Coordinate and integrate subsystems/subprojects
- Manage change requests within the requirement capture tool
- Oversee interim and stage-wise handovers to the client
- Coordinate safety assurance activities (Safety Case, RAMS, ISA Safety Notice closure, SA deliverables)
- Manage hazard logs and control measures for safety requirements
- Coordinate and manage configuration activities, including planning, identification, control, and audits
- Identify and document configuration item characteristics
- Ensure all system changes are recorded, evaluated, approved, and implemented
- Track problems and changes in product documents
- Provide input for system reliability and maintainability improvements
- Manage change request processes and develop/configure management plans
- Issue configuration baseline reports and conduct configuration audits
- Manage project changes through CCB meetings and change logs
- Maintain software version history and update VDD after software updates
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- Minimum 8 years of proven experience in similar activities
- Experience with DOORS is mandatory
- Experience in change control is advantageous
- Experience with international and railway projects
- Involvement in project completion and handover activities
Key Skills and Knowledge :
- Strong communication, presentation skills, and systematic work approach
- Ability to work under pressure
- Hands-on experience with international system assurance and integration standards
- Broad railway environment and engineering knowledge at the system level
- Fluency in English (spoken and written)
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to motivate teams
- Safety commitment
- Proficiency in MS Office and DOORS
