Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Recreation Therapist II for the Northwest Health Centre in High Level to guide clinical decisions and collaborate with families and the health team. You will design and deliver patient-centered recreation programs for residents, supervise staff, and contribute to program evaluation.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in Recreation Therapy, ATRA registration eligibility, and 3+ years of clinical practice.

Qualifications

• Completion of bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies.
• Active or eligible registration for Alberta Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA).
• Minimum three years' related clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, treat, educate and manage clients' progress with a client-centred approach.
• Develop and deliver an active, engaging recreation program for long-term care residents.
• Supervise therapy assistants and volunteers; participate in program evaluation.
