Job summary

Velan Studios, Inc. is seeking a skilled VFX Artist (Lead) to shape real-time visual effects for our ambitious projects on console and PC.

You will drive the VFX look, mentor the team, and collaborate across art, engineering, design, and QA to deliver assets with polish and performance in mind. You’ll lead by example, define workflows, review work, recruit when needed, and ensure a cohesive vision that aligns with our IP and project goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of VFX experience in real-time game environments on console/PC.
• Strong portfolio of shipped games demonstrating high polish in VFX.
• Degree or equivalent experience in Digital Media Design, Game Design, or related field is desired.
• Ability to create from your own ideas, not just from pre-existing concept art.

Responsibilities

• Pushing the bar for visual effects and helping Velan stay at the industry forefront.
• Define and implement the vfx look and style with the Art Director and leads.
• Plan tasks with Project Leads, provide time estimates, and manage vfx resources.
• Mentor and review the vfx team, guiding performance and career development.
• Create in-engine VFX benchmarks and reference materials to support the project vision.
• Collaborate with art, engineering, design, and QA to deliver high-quality assets that meet gameplay goals.
