Job description

As a Technical Lead at La Forge, you’ll guide a small yet talented team of R&D developers in transforming prototypes into minimum viable products for video game productions.

With support from the department’s development director and production manager , you’ll provide essential technical oversight and direction — from design to delivery.

You will also mentor your team, helping them refine their skills, innovate, and perform at their best in a collaborative R&D environment.

Your expertise, credibility, and reliability will make you a key resource within La Forge and across Ubisoft, serving as a trusted advisor and guide for colleagues worldwide.

La Forge bridges academia and video game production, fostering innovation and accelerating R&D. We prototype to help content creators develop believable worlds and deepen understanding of players, exploring areas like rendering, animation, AI, audio, and physics. Our mission is to tackle major challenges in art and tech gaming.

What you’ll do

  • Define development plans and prototype deliverables for production.
  • Meet regularly with your R&D team to assign tasks, discuss progress, and provide feedback.
  • Mentor team members, review code, and validate technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with production teams to integrate new technologies and identify new project opportunities.
  • Facilitate communication between La Forge and other Ubisoft teams.
  • Represent your team in meetings from project initiation to closure.
  • Address complex issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Stay informed about industry standards and share insights with studios and academia.
  • Participate in recruitment for internships and full-time roles.

Qualifications

  • PHD in computer science
  • Extensive experience in programming, innovation, or team management
  • Proficiency with Git and Visual Studio
