This position supports the advancement of an integrated approach to quality, safety, and risk management, organizational performance, and continuous improvement to achieve optimal organizational and patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and improve the organization’s quality, safety, and risk management programs and frameworks.
- Develop documentation, tools, and resources to support provincial quality, safety, and risk initiatives.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and advice on quality, safety, and risk management across the organization.
- Lead or support improvement projects and provincial standardization efforts.
- Collect, analyze, and report on quality, safety, and risk data, including incident reports and patient experience surveys.
- Coordinate incident reviews, root cause analyses, and develop improvement recommendations.
- Act as a resource on risk management and patient safety, promoting a safety culture.
- Support policy development related to patient safety and risk management.
- Participate in related committees and working groups.
- Support infection prevention and control practices.
- Establish relationships with staff, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate quality and risk activities.
Qualifications
- University degree in Health Sciences, Business Administration, or related field, with 3-5 years of healthcare experience in quality and risk management.
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination.
Preferred Attributes
- Advanced degrees or certifications in risk management or patient safety.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and healthcare system pressures.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
