Lead Project Manager (Highways Technology)

The Opportunity:

We are currently looking for a Lead Project Manager to oversee a team consisting of six project managers, associate project managers, and project coordinators delivering a variety of complex projects in the Highways Technology sector.

You will work at both project and programme levels, ensuring your team’s outputs meet quality standards while providing support, training, and escalation routes as needed.

You will be able to work according to relevant project management methodologies (APM, Prince2) for larger projects, and flexibly for smaller ones.

This is a key client-facing role where you will provide regular reports and updates on project progress to both internal and external stakeholders.

Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in Project/Programme managing complex technology projects
  • A strong background in the highways industry, ideally with experience in technology such as NRTS, RTMC, TPMS, HADECS, VMS, ANPR, etc. (HIGHLY beneficial)
  • Professional certifications and experience in implementing project management methodologies (APMP, Prince2)
  • Experience establishing and developing project teams, responsible for the overall success of projects as per contractual arrangements
  • Experience in budget management, resolving cost overruns, and managing project capital and risks
  • Experience acting as the principal point of contact for clients
Location:

Home-Based with bi-weekly office visits to Southampton

Earnings:

£70,000 to £75,000 per year
