Join Our Team as Lead Planner & Scheduler: Shaping the Future of Battery Technology

About Vianode

Vianode is an advanced battery materials company providing sustainable anode graphite solutions for the battery and EV value chains in North America and Europe. Our breakthrough technology enables high-performance synthetic anode graphite with a 90% reduction in CO2 footprint. We operate the world's most sustainable full-scale anode graphite plant for batteries at Herøya, Norway.

We are planning a multi-billion dollar phased investment to establish large-scale plants across North America and Europe, aiming to supply advanced battery materials for 3 million EVs annually by 2030. Vianode is owned by the leading financial firm Altor.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and strategic Lead Planner & Scheduler to join our team in Canada. This role requires deep experience in construction projects, particularly within Oil and Gas and process industries. Reporting to the Project Services Manager, you will collaborate with our team based in Norway.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement strategies to optimize resources, improve efficiency, and meet project timelines. Must possess strong analytical skills and effective communication across departments.
  2. Coordinate inputs and establish schedules at all levels, assessing project duration, resource allocation, and progress.
  3. Manage project timelines and ensure work progresses according to plan.
  4. Develop and oversee planning processes, schedules, and timelines across all project phases (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define project goals.
  6. Analyze data and trends to inform resource and timeline decisions.
  7. Monitor project progress, conduct Earned Value analysis, and adjust plans to ensure successful completion.
  8. Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  9. Resolve or escalate issues promptly.
  10. Communicate sensitive information tactfully.
  11. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in planning and project management.
  12. Facilitate meetings and workshops for input and feedback.
  13. Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status to stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, or construction management.
  2. 15+ years experience as Lead Planner/Scheduler or Project Planning/Scheduling Manager on large-scale industrial or Oil & Gas projects.
  3. At least 10 years working on major construction projects (USD 1 billion+).
  4. Expertise in project management, cost control, and risk management.
  5. Proficiency with planning tools such as Microsoft Project and Primavera.
  6. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Location: Onsite in South West Ontario, with visits to engineering offices, contractor sites, and team meetings.
