The Sector Capacity and Performance Portfolio partners across the Ontario healthcare system to deliver high-quality, equitable care by:
Developing and implementing innovative funding models that align with program goals and drive system performance.
Managing Agreements that reinforce accountability and system alignment.
Standardizing performance management practices across the province, including coordinated target setting, monitoring, and escalation.
Facilitating collaboration between Regional and Provincial teams to support system-wide improvement.
This is an exciting opportunity to apply your health systems expertise, communication strengths, and project management skills to drive performance review and management in Ontario. As a Lead in the Sector Capacity and Performance team, you will engage with stakeholders to advance health system priorities through performance monitoring, issue and crisis management, and strategic planning.
Here is what you will be doing:
Lead collaboration with provincial and regional stakeholders to identify and act on performance improvement priorities.
Manage regular reporting cycles for key program areas in partnership with internal teams.
Implement and maintain issue and crisis management guidelines and processes.
Oversee operations and staff education for organizational guidelines related to performance and communications.
Identify and escalate risks, offering practical recommendations to mitigate them.
Support integration across Ontario Health departments.
Communicate complex data insights, performance requirements and key deliverables clearly to diverse stakeholders through presentations and briefings to various levels of leadership. Foster effective communication between Provincial and Regional teams and Health Service Providers.
Produce reports, business cases, presentations, and briefing materials for internal and external audiences.
Lead cross-functional working groups and provide secretariat support for leadership tables.
Champion equity, inclusion, diversity, and anti-racism.
Contribute to cross-functional initiatives.
Here is what you will need to be successful
Education and Experience
A masters-level degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, or undergraduate degree with equivalent experience
At least three to five years of related healthcare experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Demonstrated project management skills and experience
Prior healthcare experience is an asset
Experience working with large data sets for analysis and reporting is preferred
Excellent organization skills and high attention to detail is required
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments to meet timelines
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and independently, using sound judgment
Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel; ability to learn new software skills quickly
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of project management and applicable industry experience in working on projects that support client groups
Ability to function at a high level of autonomy in coordinating expectations and tracking resource allocation and performance
Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex concepts clearly and effectively to executive level audiences
Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others
Must be creative and forward thinking
Superior ability to analyze and define problems, evaluate alternatives, find solutions, and facilitate decision-making
Strong problem solving, analytical, and facilitation skills
Proven ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders to establish trust, credibility and respect
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a hands-on manner, adjusting to issues as needed in a dynamic work environment. The ability to prioritize and effectively anticipate and respond to issues as they arise
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
Advanced knowledge of SharePoint is an asset
