Job description

The Lead, Patient Transfer & Flow Services, is responsible and accountable for utilizing transportation systems to facilitate transfers and repatriations that meet the care needs of patients and the operational requirements of Northern Health facilities. The Lead will facilitate the arrangement of transfers and repatriations between health authority facilities ensuring coordination of on-time delivery of both ground and air transportation resources with site operations. In collaboration with clinical staff, bed utilization coordinators, other health authorities, BC Emergency Health Services, and transportation agencies i.e. BC Patient Transfer Network (PTN), Alberta Referral, Access, Advice, Placement, Information & Destination (RAAPID), the Lead will facilitate patient flow in a safe, cost-effective, and timely way through the health care continuum. The Lead assists in data analysis and provides input to support the continuous development of a NH-wide patient transportation and bed utilization coordination service. The Lead acts as Northern Health’s representative participating as a member on regional and provincial working groups as required and working collaboratively towards system-wide improvements in patient transportation. The Lead is a member of a multi-disciplinary NH Patient Transfer and Flow Team under the Access, Flow, and Transfer Services Program, working in daily collaboration with the NH Cardiac Triage Coordinator, NH Clinical Transfer Nurses and Program Specialists to arrange transfers of northern patients between health authority facilities.

Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.
