About the Position

Position Description

The Lead Pastor serves as the ministry team leader, shepherd, spiritual overseer of the church and visionary leader of the congregation. As Lead Pastor and visionary leader of the congregation, the Lead Pastor will create opportunities and means to affect the spiritual development of members and adherents by pastoring, shepherding, providing spiritual guidance and leadership. The Lead Pastor plays an integral role as a willing team-player, a model for mentorship and will be deemed by virtue of this position to be a (non-voting) member of FBCM.

The Pastor’s role encompasses three key areas:

• Conduct and oversee regular worship service that includes sermon preparation and delivery, performance of church ordinances and special services.
• Work with worship and social media teams to develop and deliver online content for a diverse audience.
• Lead and oversee church missions and ministries working as a collaborative team player with key volunteers.

Qualifications

• Evidence of spiritual leadership, establishing healthy boundaries, managing without favoritism, providing balanced and constructive feedback employing discretion, confidentiality and tact in all interactions and communication.
• Biblically qualified as an Elder/Pastor as per I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9 and I Peter 5:1-4.
• Bachelor’s degree in either Humanities or Social Science from an accredited institution.
• Master of Divinity or Theology from an accredited institution or working toward degree completion.
• Proven coaching, mentoring, critical thinking, conflict resolution and situation analysis skill; possessing a keen awareness of group dynamics, and models spiritual and emotional maturity.
• Family-oriented, respectful and an effective communicator who demonstrates humility and an ethical mind-set.
• Born-again Christian who is humble, compassionate, nurturing, an encourager and up-lifter.
• Openness to learning, receiving direction and working with media and social media tools.
• Certification(s) in communication, technology or coaching are an asset but not required.
