An established church in Ponoka is seeking a Lead Pastor to guide and shepherd its community. This role involves teaching and preaching God's Word with clarity and compassion, providing pastoral care, and leading the congregation in fulfilling its mission. The Lead Pastor is to shepherd the flock under the Great Shepherd, Jesus Christ, and is foundationally connected to God through prayer and study/application of God’s Word. The Lead Pastor is the senior staff member, providing servant-leadership to the Elders and Deacons and all other staff.
You will:
Through teaching and instruction, the Lead Pastor instructs our fellowship in the truth of God’s Word with clarity, courage, compassion. Rooted in God’s Word and connected to Him through prayer, the Lead Pastor will preach God’s Word, guide the congregation in prayer and discipleship and help leadership and the congregation strengthen their faith.

The Lead Pastor will maintain and exhibit a life filled with a personal and growing relationship with Christ. The Lead Pastor shall be a graduate of an accredited theological seminary and have significant work experience recognized by the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada. The Lead Pastor will adhere to the FBCP Constitution and Bylaws, and follow the Church Policies. The Lead Pastor’s term of office shall extend indefinitely except as otherwise provided in the FBCP Constitution and Bylaws. Exceptions to be approved by the congregation. When the pastor (and spouse) is no longer employed by the congregation, their membership will be terminated.
