Job description

Job Summary : We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Exterior Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential and commercial exterior painting and staining, with proficiency in spray applications. As a Lead Painter, you will be responsible for overseeing and executing high-quality painting and staining projects while ensuring all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. You must possess excellent product and industry knowledge, be detail-oriented, and be able to lead a small team of painters effectively.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead and execute exterior painting projects for both residential and commercial properties.
  • Perform spray applications, as well as traditional painting and staining techniques, with a focus on quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure all projects are completed in a timely manner, within budget, and in line with safety and industry standards.
  • Manage and supervise a small team of painters, ensuring proper workflow, quality control, and safety protocols are adhered to.
  • Maintain excellent customer relations, providing exceptional service and clear communication throughout the project.
  • Handle surface preparation, including power washing, scraping, sanding, priming, and caulking.
  • Maintain an organized work environment and ensure proper care of all tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during projects and provide solutions to ensure project success.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in exterior painting, with a strong focus on spray applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of painting products, tools, and techniques used in both residential and commercial projects.
  • Proven experience in leading painting teams.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a usable vehicle for travel to job sites.
  • No criminal record (background check may be conducted).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work according to Colour Scheme Professional Painters Standards.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to enforce safety standards on the job site.
