The Opportunity

Tidewater has an immediate opening for a Lead Operator, reporting to Operations Superintendent, Northern District. This is a full-time position based out of our Grande Prairie – Valhalla location. We are looking for an individual who takes initiative, enjoys working with internal stakeholders as well as enjoys working in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead operator position organizes and directs the day-to-day operations in the northern area.

This position may be called upon to operate facilities or fill in as acting supervisor of facilities as needed, and may be involved in facility expansions, decommissions and / or additions or removal of equipment.

This position may be called upon to operate facilities or fill in as acting supervisor of facilities as needed and will be involved in planning and execution of turnarounds.

This position works 5-2 schedule and required to be on-call for emergencies. Employees may be required to live within 40 minutes of the field office.

This position will lead and abide by the terms of employment in the Tidewater Midstream EH&S “Policy Manuals”; to ensure Tidewater Midstream’s safety and environmental standards are adhered to, and regulatory requirements are met.

Ideal Candidate

Minimum 7-10 years of oilfield experience

Oil battery, Pumpjack, Compression

Reliable individual with good attention to detail.

Able to work long hours if required

Understand and comply to EHS policies and procedures

Identify opportunities to improve production and reliability

Highly organized with the ability to manage a demanding workload in a fast-paced environment

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required

Self starter who can work independently without supervision

Good communication and decision making along with problem solving skills that are proven

Mechanical aptitude is considered an asset

CMDS profile would also be consider an asset

4th Class Pwer Engineer

Minimal ticket requirements, TDG, WHMIS, H2S, First aid

Valid Class 5 Drivers License
