Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a licensed Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) for a leading Canadian EPS manufacturer in Whitby. You will install, maintain and optimize a high‑pressure steam‑based production line, serving as the technical anchor for the new on‑site system.

This role requires 5+ years of plant experience, proficiency with PLCs and HMIs, welding, and mechanical‑electrical work. Travel to Montreal for a two‑week paid training is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario 433A Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) License is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in high‑pressure steam systems and pressure vessel maintenance.
• Experience in plastics, foam, chemical, or packaging industries preferred.
• Travel to Montreal for an initial 2‑week training period.
• Background checks and references required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM and corrective maintenance on a new $4M block mold system, pre‑expanders, and shaping equipment.
• Maintain high‑pressure steam systems and pressure vessels per TSSA regulations.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs (Omron, Siemens, Allen‑Bradley) and HMIs.
• Balance mechanical and electrical tasks 50/50.
• Weld (MIG, TIG, Flux, Arc, Stick) to repair or modify machinery and ducting.
• Source local parts and manage on‑site spare parts inventory.
• Monitor hydraulics, pneumatics, silos, airveyors, and CNC hot‑wire cutting equipment.
