Job summary

Alamos Gold Inc. in Dubreuilville, ON, is seeking a Millwright & Hoist Mechanic for Island Gold District. You will maintain and repair hoisting systems, lead safety-focused maintenance, and supervise journeymen in a camp-based rotation.

Required are Red Seal Millwright or closely related certification, extensive experience with mine hoisting, leadership ability, and strong fault-finding skills. Travel and physical capability to lift 25 lbs are expected.

Qualifications

Certified Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) with Red Seal preferred.
Extensive experience with mine hoisting systems and underground assets.
Previous supervisory or lead-hand experience in mining or heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and hoist safety standards.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, OEM manuals, and regulations.
Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
Advanced troubleshooting under pressure.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
High attention to detail and accountability.
Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

Ensure completion of preventative maintenance and inspections on hoist systems.
Maintain and repair hoists (drum), braking systems, safety devices; hoist ropes, drums, sheaves; gearboxes, bearings and drive systems.
Review and approve mechanical log books and inspection reports.
Lead troubleshooting and response to hoist breakdowns or critical issues.
Plan and execute major maintenance activities (rope changes, rebuilds, shutdowns).
Coordinate with electrical, operations, and engineering teams.
Ensure proper parts, tools, and resources are available.
