Job Description

As a Seasonal Lead Merchandiser for the Garden Centre, you will take on a leadership role in creating a full and fresh environment that enhances the customer experience.

Work Schedule: This role involves working Friday to Sunday each week, either an opening AM shift or a PM closing shift, consistently each week.

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about gardening, with strong merchandising experience and leadership skills in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

As the Seasonal Lead Merchandiser, your responsibilities include overseeing merchandising strategies, driving sales, and maintaining an attractive garden centre.

Responsibilities

1. Leadership and Training:
   • Lead and inspire a team of seasonal merchandisers.
   • Conduct training on product knowledge and merchandising techniques.
2. Product Presentation:
   • Oversee product placement and presentation to maximize visual impact.
   • Ensure accurate pricing and signage.
3. Inventory Management:
   • Monitor inventory levels and provide feedback for ordering.
   • Conduct inventory counts to address discrepancies.
4. Customer Engagement:
   • Assist customers, provide product knowledge, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
   • Gather and communicate customer feedback.
5. Product Maintenance:
   • Maintain visual merchandising standards.
   • Maintain watering and plant care schedules.
   • Address issues with damaged merchandise promptly.

Qualifications

• Previous retail merchandising experience; garden centre experience preferred.
• Leadership and team management skills for at least 2 years.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Intermediate proficiency with apps, technology, and reporting portals.
• Passion for gardening and outdoor living.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
• Physical ability to push, pull, lift up to 40 lbs, and bend regularly.

Availability

• This is a seasonal position from April to June for 8 weeks.
• Must be available to work Fridays through Sundays consistently throughout the season.
