Job summary

St. Joe's is seeking a Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist for the Charlton Campus in Hamilton Downtown. The role supports HRLMP and requires leadership in core hematology and chemistry testing with a focus on quality and education.

Responsibilities include workflow management, equipment operation, QA activities, and mentoring Residents and MLT students. A CSMLS certification and CMLTO licensure are required, along with 3+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Must hold Medical Laboratory Technologist Certification (CSMLS) and be in good standing with CMLTO.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Core Laboratory – Hematology and Chemistry.
• Strong knowledge of quality control and IQMH requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and able to manage data and reports.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and monitor workflow; reassign staff to meet turnaround times.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment; troubleshoot and document issues.
• Maintain all external QA activities within the department.
• Design and validate new methodologies/technology per guidelines.
• Act as a technical resource for staff and medical personnel.
• Teach Residents and MLT students as needed.
