Zaber is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Sustaining Engineering Team in Vancouver. You will tackle product refinements, drive improvements, and push technology forward with hands-on design, analysis, and DFMA considerations.

You will work with precision motion control hardware, lead projects from conception to release, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to continuous improvement, cost reduction, and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on troubleshooting of mechanical systems and assemblies.
• Commitment to learning, continuous improvement, and problem solving.
• Experience applying DFMA, design for manufacturability, and cost-reduction ideas.

Responsibilities

• Use engineering skills on feature additions, variants, cost savings, and root cause analysis.
• Gain experience in design and production of precision positioning equipment and robotics.
• Develop strong fundamentals in mechanical design, analysis, DFMA, materials, tribology.
• Lead and manage projects from conception to release across cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with mechanical, applications, manufacturing, electrical, software, firmware, and supply chain teams.
• Work in a CNC and manual shop to prototype parts and fixtures.
