Position: Lead Mechanical Engineer - Heavy Steel Fabrication

Job Type: Permanent

Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering; P. Eng. preferred

Duties / Responsibilities

  • Take overall engineering responsibility for projects under your control as the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
  • Perform Design Engineering calculations.
  • Review drawings to ensure details are accurate, including weld processes, procedures, design data, customer specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and total drawing output prior to submission to clients.
  • Review Customer Technical specifications in accordance with design, manufacturing, and fabrication requirements.
  • Implement Customer Standards into fabrication drawings.
  • Perform Design Engineering functions associated with project work.
  • Monitor and implement design and engineering specifications, including company welding standards, in compliance with ASME Code for Pressure Vessels and Heat Exchangers.
  • Review and implement customer and contract specifications for effective project fabrication.
  • Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Resolve conflicts between drawings, specifications, and contractual issues.
  • Assist with Quality Assurance issues as required.
  • Review Weld Procedures and specifications in accordance with design and manufacturing requirements.
