Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to work on nuclear power plant systems design, including modification packages, drawings, analyses, and equipment specifications. The role involves leading project teams and interfacing with clients to present progress and status.

The position supports a hybrid work schedule with in-office days three per week and remote work for two days. A BS-based engineering degree and extensive power-industry experience are required, with P.Eng being

Qualifications

  • BSME with emphasis in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering from a CEAB/ABET-accredited program.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the power industry.
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards and regulations for mechanical design of power plants.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design, modification packages, drawings, analyses and evaluations for nuclear power plant systems.
  • Prepare or review technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment.
  • Lead engineering project teams and interface with clients on status and deliverables.
  • Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes.
  • Visit client offices or plant sites to present engineering tasks and status; work on a hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office per week.

You will be involved in nuclear power plant systems design, including preparation or review of:

  • Modification packages for operating nuclear power plants
  • Functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems
  • Engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems
  • Technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
  • Studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants
Description

You will be involved in nuclear power plant systems design, including preparation or review of:

  • Modification packages for operating nuclear power plants
  • Functional mechanical drawings and/or drawings for nuclear power plant systems
  • Engineering analyses and evaluations to support modifications and operation of plant systems
  • Technical specifications and procurement documents for plant equipment
  • Vendor bid evaluations for plant equipment
  • Studies and options evaluations for modifications to operating nuclear power plants
In Addition, You Will Have The Opportunity To
  • Develop engineering cost estimates for small to mid-sized client-requested work scopes
  • Visit client office and/or plant site locations to interface with the client and make presentations related to engineering tasks and status
  • Lead engineering project teams

This position is based on a hybrid work schedule and will require in-office work 3 days per week, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.

Essential Skills And Experience
  • BSME with emphasis in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from a Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board-accredited undergraduate program or a US based ABET-accredited program
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in the power industry
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations that apply to mechanical engineering design of power plants
Valued, But Not Required
  • P.Eng license
  • Active Ontario Power Generation (OPG) security clearance

Compensation Range

$130,193 - $179,016
