Job summary

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited is seeking a First Cook for a full-time role in our kitchen. The position offers a wage of $22.74/hour to start and opportunities to contribute to a fast-paced, team-oriented environment across a major national company.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of cooking experience, a Culinary Arts diploma or certificate, and relevant certifications. Evening and weekend work are possible, with comprehensive benefits and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Two to five years in a cook position or extensive culinary experience.
• Diploma or Certificate in Culinary Arts or equivalent education.
• Red Seal or equivalent certification is an asset.
• Foodsafe Certificate is an asset.
• Solid understanding of meat, starch, sauces, soups and food safety preparation.
• Ability to lift items weighted similar to a crate of potatoes and stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to work flexible hours and special events.
