Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a lead Java developer in Toronto to be the primary technical contact for traders, quants, and support partners across North America and APAC. You will lead development projects that expand the system's capabilities to support Capital Markets Macro trading business.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role, you'll be writing production code daily while setting the technical direction for the work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on server-side Java development with strong emphasis on concurrency, messaging, and event processing.
• 1+ years setting technical direction in a lead or senior engineering capacity (hands-on technical leadership, not people management).
• Working knowledge of capital markets and the trade lifecycle to communicate effectively with front office teams.
• Curve building and interest rate swap pricing knowledge with hands-on experience in at least one: Rates curve building and pricing; Rates eTrading; FX eTrading; Credit eTrading.
• Design and implementation of low-latency trading applications using real-time messaging technologies (Solace, TREP or IBM MQ).
• SQL experience.
• DevOps/CI-CD tooling experience (Jira, GitHub, Maven, Jenkins).
• REST APIs and web services.
• Front-end exposure: HTML5, React.js, Node.js.
• Agile project experience.
