Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a talented and experienced Lead Interior Designer / Fit-Out & FF&E with specialized expertise in fit-out and FF&E to manage and oversee interior design projects from concept to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading design teams, managing client relationships, and ensuring the quality, functionality, and aesthetics of interior spaces. You will play a crucial role in designing and implementing interiors that enhance the client experience and meet functional and budgetary requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
Lead Design Projects: Oversee and manage all phases of interior design, from concept development to final execution, including FF&E selection, procurement, and installation.
Client Interaction: Collaborate directly with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and vision, ensuring that designs reflect these elements while meeting functional requirements and budget constraints.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of interior designers, coordinating their work and ensuring that deadlines, quality standards, and client expectations are met.
Fit-Out Management: Ensure that the interior space is executed according to the approved designs, working closely with contractors, architects, and suppliers. Oversee the coordination of all trades to ensure smooth delivery.
Design Development: Develop design concepts, mood boards, layouts, 3D visuals, and renderings for client presentations. Create detailed drawings and specifications for the construction and fit-out teams.
FF&E Coordination: Manage the selection, procurement, and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment, ensuring all items align with the design theme, brand, and functionality requirements. Develop FF&E schedules and budgets.
Budget & Cost Management: Work within project budgets, ensuring that designs and procurement meet cost expectations. Monitor costs during the project lifecycle to avoid budget overruns.
Vendor and Supplier Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors to ensure quality control and on-time delivery of FF&E items.
Compliance & Regulations: Ensure all designs and executions adhere to local building codes, health and safety regulations, and sustainability standards.
Quality Control: Conduct regular site visits during the fit-out phase to ensure design integrity, quality standards, and timelines are maintained.
Sustainability & Innovation: Stay updated on design trends, materials, and technologies that can enhance the sustainability and functionality of interior spaces.
Reporting & Documentation: Prepare reports, presentation materials, and documentation for internal and client meetings. Maintain accurate records of design progress and decisions.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum of +10 years of professional experience in interior design, with a focus on fit-out and FF&E projects. Proven experience leading teams and managing large-scale projects.
Strong proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D visualization tools, etc.)
Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and finishes.
Expertise in FF&E selection, procurement, and project management.
Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills.
Strong communication and client relationship skills.
Attention to detail with a strong aesthetic sensibility.
Knowledge of sustainability and green building practices.
Good oral and written communication skills.
