Solaris is looking for a detail-oriented Lead Installer, that takes pride in their work, to join our team and lead a small installation crew through the busy spring/summer/fall season.

Position Overview

The Lead Installer is responsible for delivering unparalleled customer service through installing all of Solaris’s product offerings. They will do so in a way that upholds our dedication to providing customers with outstanding customer service and quality craftsmanship. Management and supervision skills are key.

Responsibilities

You will be a professional installer that makes delivers an outstanding customer experience on our promise of enhancing outside living spaces for home owners, using high-quality products from leading manufacturers. You will work with the project and sales team to realize the custom solution for each unique homeowner and outdoor living space. You will also:

Become a subject matter expert in understanding and installing our complete product line including executive power screens, power-retractable awnings, fixed screen systems, roll shutters, screen door products and more.

Provide clear and accurate measurements and communicate site and project requirements, any potential challenges, and timelines based on on-site visits before and during project completion.

Lead, train and supervise installation crews.

Follow work schedules and ensuring that projects and installations are done to the highest standard, completed in a timely fashion, hold up to our quality control standards, and to the expectations of our customers.

You are responsible for always acting and communicating in a respectful manner with all clients, vendors and coworkers. Building rapport with all stakeholders is vital to ensure seamless progress and completion of each project to client satisfaction, to minimize warranty claims, and to build repeat business.

Maintain professional communication and presentation standards at all times with customer and suppliers alike.

Follow all safety and quality protocols and communicate any issues affecting the project; relating to equipment, project, safety or otherwise immediately to the client and the manager/owner as they arise.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

4+ years of Proven experience in residential construction and/or installation.

The ability to successfully work and lead in a small team dynamic is important.

Ideally you have formal post secondary education in a recognized trade; Cabinet Making or Finishing Carpentry would be preferred, but we will consider equivalencies.

Residential trade certification is preferred

Must have a clean driver's license and be insurable to drive company vehicles

Experience safely using all manner of hand and power tools to cut and fabricate aluminum, screens, and wood is a must.

You must understand how to read, write, add and subtract imperial and metric measurements.

Detail-orientation

Excellent written and oral communication in English

A strong interest and enthusiasm for working outdoors on projects in various weather conditions

Customer-focused attitude and taking pride in the quality standard of each project as though it's your own home.

Work Conditions:

Working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Driving company vehicle to and from projects

Potential for limited overnight travel to projects outside the Greater Edmonton Area.

Comfortable on a ladder

Able to lift 80lbs

8 hours per day x 5 days per week in the off-season (November through February)

10 hours per day x 4 days per week in the busy season (March through October)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $27.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

Additional pay:

Overtime pay

Fluency in English required. French not required

Schedule:

Monday to Friday - 8-10 hours per day

Edmonton, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Carpentry: 3 years (required)

Customer service: 3 years (preferred)

Residential construction: 4 years (preferred)
