Celebrating its 21st anniversary this year, The Drake is a growing Canadian hospitality brand focused on lifestyle hotels, food + drink, and special events. We are more than a place to sleep, eat, and drink; we believe culture and community matter and are committed to an exceptional hospitality experience delivered in our signature style—genuine, personal, memorable, and embracing the energy of discovery. We value honesty and spontaneity because that's the essence of real connection and believe that hospitality is an act of care. The Drake Hotel (Toronto), Drake Devonshire Inn (Wellington, Prince Edward County), and Drake Motor Inn (Wellington, Prince Edward County) are each reflective of their neighborhoods as inclusive hubs for diverse experiences through art, culture, and hospitality, featuring seasonal menus, curated curiosities, and genuine hospitality excellence.

Drake Devonshire, located in historic Wellington, Prince Edward County, is seeking a guest-focused, hardworking, professional, flexible, and positive individual who takes pride in maintaining the beauty and upkeep of our hotel rooms. The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the exceptional cleanliness of the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house non-kitchen areas, and managing laundry operations (external).

This role requires strong people management, communication, and hands-on housekeeping skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Direct daily housekeeping operations to maintain high cleaning standards of guestrooms and public areas, providing courteous service to guests.
  2. Train and monitor staff on daily housekeeping duties.
  3. Assist team members with scheduling to meet peak and slow periods, maintaining payroll control.
  4. Collaborate with leadership on annual budgets for uniforms, housekeeping FF&E, and operating equipment.
  5. Inspect guestrooms (vacant and occupied) to ensure cleaning standards are met.
  6. Inspect floors, back-of-house, and public areas for cleanliness.
  7. Coordinate with Engineering for repairs and maintenance, ensuring rooms are in good condition.
  8. Work with Front Office on room blocking for repairs, spring cleaning, and short-term sales.
  9. Hold daily briefings with floor supervisors about VIP arrivals, guest complaints, and special assignments.
  10. Conduct regular housekeeping meetings to discuss guest and staff feedback, areas for improvement, and hotel updates.
  11. Manage guest room supplies and cleaning supplies inventory.
  12. Oversee linen inventory and other room-related items, maintaining par levels and reordering as needed.
  13. Evaluate department personnel performance.
  14. Adhere to security and emergency policies.
  15. Ensure team compliance with hotel rules and regulations.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
  • At least 1 year of supervisory or head housekeeper experience in hotel housekeeping.
  • Strong guest and staff relations skills.
  • Good problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficiency in hotel PMS system, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Benefits

We offer leadership and development opportunities, competitive compensation, bonuses, benefits, training programs, and unique perks. The Drake is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and provide accommodations as needed.
