Ledcor Highways Ltd. is seeking motivated crews for year-round highway maintenance across Ontario. This union-role offers long-term stability, with training, benefits, and growth potential within Ledcor’s broader projects. Local applicants preferred due to site locations.

Responsibilities include assisting Foreperson, planning work, supervising quality, operating equipment as required, and ensuring safety and environmental standards are met in diverse weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid AZ/DZ license with air endorsement.
• Must be physically able to perform demanding tasks.
• Demonstrated teamwork and commitment to safety on job sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreperson with daily safety meetings, inspections, and reporting.
• Support planning to meet project milestones and quality standards.
• Monitor crew work quality and compliance with procedures.
• Operate equipment on site as needed and in all weather conditions.
• Help address health, safety and environmental concerns promptly.
• Work outdoors in varying weather, following shift patterns (5x2 or 6x1).

We offer industry leading wages, excellent training, benefits, RSP's and career growth potential with advancement opportunities within our diversified company. You will be responsible for winter and seasonal maintenance of Ontario highways, using various trucks and heavy equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist Foreperson with daily tasks including safety toolbox meetings, equipment inspection, and road condition inspection reports
• Support Foreperson in the planning of work to meet contractual milestones
• Monitor the quality of work performed by the crew
• Operate equipment on work sites as needed
• Help ensure health, safety, and environment related concerns are addressed promptly
• Work outside in all weather conditions

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks
• Must possess a valid AZ or DZ driver’s license with air endorsement
• Must provide a copy of a 3-year driver’s abstract
• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset

Work Conditions

• Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
• As we respond to various weather patterns, some shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
• Work schedules will consist of either 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off, with daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours (Shop specific)
• Union Position, benefits provided by CLAC

Compensation

$23.45 - $33.50

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
